I have a list of law firms that I would never recommend to my clients. The lawyers in these firms are typically either incompetent or predatory (or both). Maybe not all the lawyers. But most.
It's the culture that attracts and rewards the wrong people, invariably starting from the top.
Clients of these firms usually suffer the consequences of avoidable setback after setback, while still paying exhorbitant fees. This leaves them feeling abused by the legal system and by their own lawyers.
Then they have to live with the results, which can include the negative long-term effects of botched and stressful legal proceedings, as well as years of financial stress paying off huge legal bills.
So, while my main focus is on referring my clients to law firms that do a great job, my list of law firms never to use is probably more important.
