Thank you to everyone involved in the RMIT University Law Students Society's Careers Evening on 8 May, here in the Melbourne CBD. It was a night full of enthusiasm, some trepidation, and generous sharing of insights and guidance.
So many questions about how to prepare for internships, clerkships and ultimately that first legal role after graduation. Lots of opportunities to share the information and advice I have given to my now 100+ interns to help them succeed in their studies and future legal careers.
Incredible response from these RMIT law students during and after (via email and LinkedIn) to The Macmillan School's internship program and to our Macmillan Ready training and employment initiative, where we not only mentor and train students with practice-ready skills, but also seek to place them in law firms.
And great to see lawyers from some of the larger firms, including Allens where I completed my articles of clerkship (practical legal training) well before most of my interns were born!
Special thanks to my colleagues Karoline Y. J. Ren and Danny Tran, RMIT Law Students Society Careers Directors Minh Nguyen, Amber Dao and Sara Amiri, Society Treasurer Hasnat Khanna and Society President Jai Moore.
